Seeing 1848 in the Uprisings of 2011

Popular UK historian Eric Hobsbawm sees parallels between the Arab Spring (and its children movements like Occupy) and the revolutionary year of 1848: 

The renowned historian Eric Hobsbawm has watched the revolutions of 2011 with excitement – and notes that it’s now the middle class, not the working class, that is making waves.
